After an extened period of time, the Under 16/17’s age group made a return to cricket. This was a challenge for many as the majority of the team were at least playing up one or two years. Playing in this age group did challenge our young players and gave many the opportunity to play additional cricket. This has helped to expand their skill and knowledge of the game and learn how to adapt to the challenges they can expect to face in years to come. Some of our 16/17’s team played competitive adult cricket in 2021 and some matches played against cricketers of a higher skill set. This is great for them to get a feel for what the future may bring. I am looking forward to seeing how last season’s team develop further into adult cricket in the upcoming 2022 season.
