2021 season saw a resumption of the League and Cup Youth cricket, competing in the Surrey Junior Cricket Championship in Tier 2 East Division and competing against many teams we had regularly played against in previous years in the old ESCL. The team was a blend of actual Under 15’s combined with several younger players playing up one or more years who did not look out of place against the older players of our opponents. These matches enabled our players to still play some youth cricket in a season when many were playing in their first competitive adult matches, giving good balance to their cricketing experience. Seeing the youth players transition and hold on merit places in adult teams gives them and others the confidence to take their next steps on their cricket pathways.
