Saturday evening saw the club come together for a fantastic awards night following the 1st XI’s dominant win over Chaldon earlier in the day. With every award (apart from the Captain’s choice) voted for by the players themselves, the night was a true celebration of performances across all teams this season.

In recognition of Hilary, Dave and Dom's collective effort for the Club, as a family the Venns were awarded the John Hurst Award.

The last week of the season is here – and after sealing the Division 7 East title last weekend, the 1st XI round things off at home this Saturday vs Chaldon.

⏰ Please note it’s an early 12:00 start to allow plenty of time for our End of Season Awards Night, which kicks off shortly after the last ball.

A couple of special mentions this week:
💚 Tom Ware will be playing for his baggie green.
💚 A well-deserved 1st XI debut for Luke West – the first of many we’re sure! 👏

Off the pitch, the 2nd XI secured promotion last weekend 🎉 – and they’ll be running the BBQ at the ground on Saturday 🍔🔥

Let’s pack the Green, cheer the lads home, and then roll straight into a night of celebrations 💚🍻

For the past few years we members and friends of Capel Cricket Club have spent the bank holiday Sundays exploring local car boot sales in search of outfits for less than £5. These outfits are then worn to the Surrey Oaks Beer Festival to enjoy the great selection of beer and live music on offer. This (we hope) provides great entertainment for other attendees of the Beer Festival. This year we have decided to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice through our challenge by equalling or donating more than our spend at the car boot sale.
